Ahrefs Brand Radar
Mention monitoring inside AI answers, tied to Ahrefs' crawl and backlink data. Strong on the trust side of the picture.
Last reviewed 09 August 2026. This subject moves monthly — products ship, crawlers change and documentation is rewritten without announcement. For anything newer than this page, Ahrefs’s own site is the source of truth.

What it does
Tracks where your brand is mentioned across AI answers and web content, and connects that to Ahrefs' link graph. Ahrefs describes Brand Radar as drawing on hundreds of millions of monthly prompts across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok — search-backed rather than synthetic. We cannot independently verify the volumes, but the scale of the underlying crawl is not in question, and the differentiator is the link data beneath it: you can see which sites mentioning you also carry authority.
Where it is genuinely good
Understanding why a competitor gets named more often. If they are cited by twelve industry publications and you are cited by none, that is an authoritativeness gap, and Ahrefs is better placed than anyone to show it to you.
The interface is also fast and the data export is clean, which matters more than it sounds when you are building a monthly report.
How it relates to what we do
Directly complementary, and worth being clear about. Brand Radar answers am I being mentioned — a measurement question that needs a very large prompt database. Our check answers can I be mentioned — a readiness question that needs your HTML.
If Brand Radar shows you at zero mentions, it has told you something true and given you nothing to act on. The reason is almost always in your markup. Fix that first, then use a tracker to watch whether it moved.
If you are already well mentioned and want to understand competitive share of voice, this is a better purchase than anything we sell.
Where it falls short
Same structural limitation as every tracker: it samples, and it cannot tell you what to change on the page. It is also priced for agencies and in-house teams rather than owner-operators.
Who should buy it
Anyone already running Ahrefs. If you are choosing between Ahrefs and Semrush purely for AI tracking, the deciding factor is usually which ecosystem your existing reporting already lives in, not the AI feature itself.
Commercial disclosure. No link in this directory earns us a commission. If that ever changes, the link will be marked (commercial link), carry rel="sponsored", and this note will say so. What we write does not depend on it: nothing here is a paid placement, the order is not for sale, we review tools that pay us nothing, and we say plainly when a tool is better than ours or when you should spend nothing at all. If that ever stops being true, this directory is worthless and so is the rest of the site.
On pricing. We describe what a tool is for, not what it charges. Prices move, free tiers get withdrawn or introduced, plans get renamed, and what you pay differs by region and currency. Anything we wrote about cost could be wrong by the time you read it, so treat it as a rough shape and check the vendor's own pricing page before you buy. Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we will fix it.
