How it compares to Yoast

The schema engine is the main differentiator. Rank Math's free tier exposes more schema types and a per-post schema builder, where Yoast's equivalent granularity sits behind the paid tier or requires code.

The trade-off is complexity. Rank Math surfaces a lot of settings, and it is easy to enable modules you do not need and end up with a heavier site and conflicting output.

What to configure first

• Titles & Meta → Local SEO if you have a physical location. This produces a proper LocalBusiness block.
• Schema → default schema type per post type. Set articles to Article, service pages to Service.
• Turn off modules you do not use. Each one adds weight.

Verdict

Either Yoast or Rank Math is fine and the difference is smaller than the internet suggests. Choose one, configure the site representation and social profiles carefully, and never run both.
